So what, should we launch a campaign to convince “them” that “we” think Facebook is “good” and should not be blocked? That’s insane. Why should I be concerned of what “they” think of Facebook. In fact, I don’t give a shit about what they think. We should either launch a true campaign to stop blocking anything is Syria (Which I deeply doubt that it could happen, given the way this country is governed). Or we just shut the fuck up and take it as it is.
And when I say a “true campaign”, I should stress the fact that expressing our opinions on Blogs, Forums, Facebook or any other god damn web site is not a campaign. And by doing so, we’re merely a group of people that convince themselves that they’re active.
Sorry fellas, I’m out of this.

“ولدت ﻷبٍ كادح وأم كادحة في يوم - حطّ تاريخ ميلادك - من عام كذا. نشأت وترعرت في ظل أسرتي المكونة من - حطّلي عدد أخواتك هون - أبناء وأب وأم مناضلين.
تلقيت دراستي الإبتدائية في مدرسة - اسم مدرستك - حيث التحقت بمنظمة طلائع البعث …”

هذه كانت الأسطر الأولى من النبذة التي أرادنا مدرّس “التربية القومية الاشتراكية” أن نكتبها عن حياتنا، على ورقة تبين لنا - فيما بعد - أنها طلب انتساب لحزب البعث العربي الاشتراكي. وبما أني “قليل ترباية وقليل قومية وقليل اشتراكية” طويت الورقة بكل احترام ووضعتها في حقيبتي، وجلست أستمع لتتمة النبذة البعثية عن حياة زملائي الخمسين.

طبعاً لم أقم بتوقيع الاستمارة، ولم أسلمها له في نهاية “الحدوتة” السخيفة التي - كما يبدو - حفظها عن ظهر قلب. كما لم تفلح محاولاته اللاحقة بإقناعي بالانتساب، ولا بتهديدي بأني سأخسر درجاتي في مادته - التافهة.

بلا طول سيرة، مرّت الأيام وتخرجت من المدرسة، ونسيت الحادثة وهو على الأغلب نسيها. إلى أن أنشأت هذه المدونة من عدّة أيام، وكتبت أول “تدوينة” و عين الله عليي. وكتبت التدوينة الثانية وما زالت عين الله عليي. واليوم دخلت إلى مدوّنتي (لأتأملّها بفخر :-) ولاحظت أني نسيت تعديل الصفحة - اللئيمة - التي عنوانها “About”. باشرت بالمهمة على الفور:

“أنا شاب ..” - ايه وبعدين شو بكتب؟

“ولدت لأبٍ كادحِ وأمٍّ كادحة في يوم …” - سقى الله هديك الأيام، العمى شو ذكرني في هاد هلأ؟

“أنا شاب  ..” - إيه، وبعدين؟

“أنا شاب ..” - فهمنا، وبعدين شو بكتب؟ أنا شاب شو؟

“ولدت لأبٍ كادح وأمّ كادحة ..” - خلصنا حاج غلاظة، يالله ركّز بفرنكين وكتوب أنت مين؟

العمى أنا مين؟

يعني بعد 12 سنة مدرسة، و5 سنين جامعة، ما عم أعرف أكتب سطرين على بعض عن موضوع: أنا!!

يعني بعد كل هالعمر، ما يخطر ببالي شي قوله عن حالي غير “أنا شاب”!!!

العمى

يالله منحاول مرّة تانية.

ولدت لأب مناضل وأم مناضلة -  وضربة نضال بقا شو بني؟

لذلك عزيزي القارئ ، وددت أن أكون صريحاً معك حتى النهاية. فبما أن هواياتي غير واضحة، واتجاهاتي الفكرية متداخلة وبشدة، وبما أن الطائفة ليست هوية، وبما أن العائلة مفهوم  شطّاط مطّاط في ثقافتنا الشرق أوسطية، وبما أن المجتمع المبني على المصلحة ليس وطناً، وبما أننا نكتب سيرنا الذاتية جماعةً، وبما أن الشعور المرضي بالحاجة إلى إثبات الكرامة والسيادة والرجولية - وعقدة النقص؟ - يلغي الحاجة إلى تحقيق هوية فردية لدى أبناء المجتمعات - البالية والقبلية أصلاً - التي أنتمي؟ إليها. فلا أستطيع - ولأسباب فيزيولوجية بحتة - سوى التأكيد أني “شاب”.

في آخر موجات التخوين والتكفير التي باتت إحدى أنجح السياسات التسويقية في سورية في الأعوام الأخيرة، أقام بنك الشام محاضرة في المركز الثقافي العربي بداريا، شن خلالها كل من د. محمد سعيد رمضان البوطي و د. وهبة الزحيلي حملة (ناجحة على ما يبدو) على “المصارف الربوية و هي تمثل يد الصهيونية”.

وفيما يلي مقتطفات من المحاضرة:

” لقد رحل الاستعمار السياسي عن البلاد العربية و لكن هذا الاستعمار له تلامذة و أعوان تركوا في الساحة من بعده لابقاء مخلفات الاستعمار السياسي و لعبوا دورا في تشويه المعارف و ظلوا يضربون في عقول الناس ليخدموا فكر المستعمر.”

ok, enough with this bull shit about how I really don’t care, how I’m really not afraid and how I think that a single moment of true freedom is worth whatever problems it’ll get me into.

So .. I woke up as Damascene George. Oh my god, I need to get used to my new name!

naaa, I’m too much of a lazy ass to play sports, and I hate discussing hings I ignore.

- So what is it, politics, sociology, religion, economics, activism .. just put yourself in a category asshole!
First of all, you should know that I hate to be categorized - this is making me think again about my name. Second of all, I’m gonna be talking about all these subjects, do you mind?

- So your telling me your an expert in .. what .. all those subjects? how many PhD’s do you have already?
well, I haven’t graduated yet. But I’m telling you I’m from Syria.

- As if you were all born super-multi-field-thinkers .. funny
No we’re not. But we’re Syrians. Even the way we dance is affected by the social, political, religious and economical conditions we’re expected to survive daily! So when we discuss these issues, we’re not the experts, we’re the subjects of their experiments!

- aha. And you think your blog is gonna make any difference?
Not really. I’m convinced that “our” case is hopeless, it’s just more complicated than we can handle.

- What kind of idiot would put “our” in quotes?
Who are “we” after all. I only know that “I” exist, and I’m physicly separated from everybody else. “I” am the only group. Any other notion of a group is arguable and weakly defined.

- So why are you writing in English (your English sucks by the way).
hmmm, I know this is one of the hot topics on the Syrian blogsphere. I simply don’t have an Arabic keyboard right now, I have no ideological beliefs with or against blogging in Arabic, I swear. Oh, and my English sucks maybe, cause nobody taught me how to write in English. In fact, nobody even taught me how to write an decent post (or essay or anything) in Arabic. Unless you count “mawadi3 al ta3bir al adabiyeh” in high school. No Syrian ministry or governmental department or company have ever helped me seriously learn any language (Except syronix).
